These workshops are located in Scurfield Hall at the Haskayne School of Business
Note: Computers will NOT be supplied to you, so do bring your own laptop. Some of the workshops are detailed presentations / discussion of topics in depth.
1. Tableau. Introduction to Data Visualization using Tableau. How to link to databases, How to create a data visualization models, How to link multiple data sources: MS SQL, Oracle, etc. Geographic distributions and visualizations. How to add others to view the data. Tableau provides users with intuitive BI tools to enhance data discovery and understanding for all types of companies and business users. With simple drag-and-drop features, a user is able to easily access and analyze key data, create innovative reports and visualizations, and share critical insights across the company.
2. BIG DATA EXAMPLES OF BUSINESS VALUE: Everywhere you turn you find the world turning to Big Data. However there is a problem. Much of Big Data does not return a significant value for the investment made. This presentation discusses where business value is to be found in Big Data.
SWIMMING IN THE DATA LAKE: A popular data strategy is to create a data lake. However people are finding that - if they are not careful - the data lake turns into a garbage dump. This short presentation addresses the issues.
3. KNIME: Introduction to KNIME and its capabilities, Process models and accessing diverse data sets.
4. Certification programs in Data Management, Data Science, Data Governance & Stewardship, Business Technology Management, Business Intelligence. Attendees will cover over 200 concept areas during the 3 hours, refresh their knowledge and gain strategies for taking examinations and passing them. Conference attendees will be able to take the examinations within 90 days of conference ending on a "Pay-if-you-pass" basis to assure they are comfortable taking exams and ready to pass the exams and gain the credentials they seek.
5. TIBCO Spotfire - The Journey from BI to Business Analytics.
The session will discuss and demonstrate the journey from BI to Business Analytics through Data Virtualization, Content Analytics and Data Visualization. Cadeon is the leading partner with TIBCO Spotfire and has delivered solutions to more than 50 customers helping them drive by data insights instead of intuition-based decision making.
In workshop, we will demonstrate various use cases across different business industries using TIBCO Spotfire, ADS and Content Analytics. TIBCO Spotfire enables us to take our clients through journey to Business Analytics with built-in functionalities and the engine for advanced modeling and algorithms.
